Medical Oncology Program


Avnish K. Bhatia, MD


Avnish K. Bhatia, MD, is the Clinical Director at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Bhatia graduated from the Drexel University College of Medicine, completed his residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, and his fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. His specialties include medical oncology, gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, head & neck cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and hematology.

Allison Zibelli, MD


Allison Zibelli, MD, is the Division Director, Regional Cancer Care, Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. Dr. Zibelli received her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine, and she completed her internship, residency, and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Her specialties include medical oncology, breast cancer, gynecologic cancers, lung cancer, and hematology.

Patrick Mille, MD


Patrick Mille, MD, is a medical oncologist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Mille received his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Mille’s specialties include medical oncology, bladder cancer, gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, lung cancer, and hematology.

Michael Ramirez, MD


Michael Ramirez, MD, is a medical oncologist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Ramirez received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Temple University Hospital, and his fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Ramierez's specialties include medical oncology, gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, multiple myeloma, and hematology.

Lewis J. Rose, MD


Lewis J. Rose, MD, is a medical oncologist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Rose received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and his fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rose’s specialties include medical oncology, breast cancer, gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, hematologic cancers, lung cancer, and hematology.

Rajan Singla, MD


Rajan Singla, MD, is a medical oncologist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Singla received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formerly Jefferson Medical College). He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Singla’s specialties include medical oncology, breast cancer, gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and hematology.

 

Breast Health Program


Ronit Sugar, MD, FACS


Ronit Sugar, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon in the Breast Health Program at Jefferson Health – Northeast. Dr. Sugar graduated from Muhlenberg College and received her medical degree from Hahnemann University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in general surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Before joining Jefferson Health, Dr. Sugar was a staff surgeon practicing general surgery, with a special focus on breast surgery, at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Warminster General Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, Delaware Valley Medical Center, and Lower Bucks County Hospital. She has served as clinical assistant professor of surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine and lectured professionally in her field. Dr. Sugar is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Yi Huang, MD 


Yi Huang, MD, is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon and certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Huang completed her undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and received her medical degree from New York University (NYU). She completed five years of general surgery residency at Northwell North Shore-Long Island Jewish, where she became particularly drawn to women's health and cancer care. Dr. Huang completed her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Yale University, where she trained with national leaders in the field of breast surgery.

She uses the most innovative surgical techniques, including wireless localization for tumors, nipple- and skin-sparing mastectomy, and oncoplastic surgery. Dr. Huang is passionate about obtaining the best oncologic outcome while maintaining good aesthetic results.

 

Gynecologic Oncology

Sudeshna Chatterjee-Paer, MD


Sudeshna Chatterjee-Paer, MD, is a gynecological oncologist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr, Chatterjee-Paer received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She completed her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology and her fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Gynecological Oncology. Dr. Chatterjee-Paer’s main specialty focuses on gynecological oncology.

 

Lung Cancer Screening

Teresa E. Giamboy, DNP, CRNP, CCRN, MTTS


Teresa Giamboy is a double board-certified, doctoral prepared nurse practitioner, serving as the Director of the Jefferson Health Lung Cancer Screening Program. She received her Doctoral and Master degrees in Nursing at Walden University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Thomas Jefferson University. Teresa specializes in the care of patients requiring chest surgery for benign and malignant diseases, as well as lung cancer screening. As a certified master tobacco treatment specialist, Teresa has expertise in the treatment and management of tobacco addiction.

 

Radiation Oncology


Eric Gressen, MD


Eric Gressen, MD, is the Director, Technology Integration and Performance Improvement , Radiation Oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Gressen received his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Christiana Care Health Services and his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Gressen?s specialties include brain tumor, breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, head & neck cancers, and hematologic cancers.


Shari Rudoler, MD


Shari Rudoler, MD, is a radiation oncologist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center serving the Torresdale community. Dr. Rudolder received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internship at Cooper University Hospital, her residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and her fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Rudoler specialties include acoustic neuroma, brain tumor, breast cancer, breast cancer – men, breast infections and inflammations, central nervous system and lymphoma.

 

Nurse Navigators and Cancer Center Staff

Hajar Muhammad DNP, FNP-C, NCCTP
Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner

 
Dr. Hajar Muhammad is a board-certified, doctoral-prepared family nurse practitioner. She has been in the health care field for over 20 years starting off as a surgical technician. Dr. Muhammad earned her undergraduate RN degree from Widener University, then her master's degree as a certified NP from Drexel University and ultimately her doctorate degree from Temple University. Dr. Muhammad has experience as a RN in the ICU, and high risk obstetrics. As a nurse practitioner she ran a retail health clinic, worked in a busy chronic care clinic in North Philadelphia, and a chronic care house calls program.

Elizabeth Thornton, MSN, RN-BC, MTTS
Thoracic Oncology Nurse Navigator

 
Beth received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Holy Family University and her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Walden University. As the thoracic oncology nurse navigator and a certified master tobacco treatment specialist, Beth provides individualized care and education for lung cancer screening and thoracic oncology patients and those with tobacco addiction.

Marta Poznanska MSN-Ed, RN-BC, NCTTP
Thoracic Oncology Nurse Navigator


Marta A. Poznanska MSN- Ed, RN – BC, NCTTP is a Thoracic Oncology Nurse Navigator with Master's degree in Nursing Education. She is certified in Cardiovascular Nursing and Tobacco Counseling. Marta is a Registered Nurse with 17 years of Cardiothoracic surgery experience, and 6 years of teaching experience in various clinical settings such Geriatrics, Telemetry, and Oncology. She is well trained in clinical management, quality performance and patient satisfaction improvement. She has served on multiple committees such as Magnet, Pharmacy and Research. She attributed to successful Magnet designation and re- designations as well as consecutive Joint Commission accreditations. She is a recipient of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing Excellence award as well as Leadership and Florence Nightingale recognitions. She graduated from a joint BSN program from Ramapo College/ University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. She obtained her Master's degree in Nursing Education from the joint MSN program with Ramapo College of New Jersey and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
