Elizabeth Thornton

Elizabeth Thornton, BSN, RN-BC, received her nursing diploma from the Frankford Hospital (now Aria Health) School of Nursing from 2002-2005. Elizabeth joined Aria as a registered nurse in the telemetry unit at the Aria Frankford Campus.

She received her Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) degree from Holy Family University in 2007. While at the Frankford 2A unit, Elizabeth began in the basic cardiac unit, treating patients with congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and post operative patients. As her skills developed, she eventually transitioned to a more advanced cardiac unit, focusing primarily on caring for post operative open heart patients, patients receiving pacemakers or defibrillators, and patients with cardiac arrhythmias, as well as congestive heart failure patients. She became certified in cardiac vascular care in 2014 and completed continuing education units each year.

Elizabeth has provided exceptional care for her patients for the last ten years and has gained considerable knowledge and experience. She is an advocate for educating patients and family members to improve patient compliance, as well as outcomes.
