Frank Mallon, PT, DPT, PRC
Manager of Outpatient Physical Medicine

Frank is the Manager of Outpatient Physical Medicine for Jefferson Health. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Exercise & Sport Science from Ursinus College and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University. In 2015, he became Pennsylvania's first certified practitioner through the Postural Restoration Institute out of Lincoln, NE and he is an adjunct faculty member at Arcadia University. He concentrates his continuing education in the areas of Postural Restoration and the holistic assessment and treatment of movement dysfunctions to eliminate pain and improve movement quality and performance.

Lead Physical Therapist

Brian Furlong graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University and has been an employee at Jefferson Health since 2008. Brian specializes in the evaluation and treatment of vestibular disorders.

Senior Physical Therapist with Specialty

Christina Magana graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University and has been an employee at Jefferson Health since 2010. She is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT or “The McKenzie Method”) and an APTA (American Physical Therapy Association)-Certified Clinical Instructor. Her other responsibilities at Jefferson include being an Outpatient Center Coordinator for Clinical Education for the physical therapy student clinical program and a Patient Safety officer.

Cini Varughese graduated from Florida International University. She has been an employee at Jefferson Health since 2004. She is certified in manual therapy through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

Joseph Herzig graduated from Temple University and has been employed with Jefferson Health since 2003. He is certiufied in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT or “The McKenzie Method”). He has special interest in the conservative treatment of the spine. He also has interest in orthopedics, specaifically joint replacement.

Natalie Saver graduated from Temple University. She has been an employee at Jefferson Health since 1989. Natalie is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT or “The McKenzie Method”).

Senior Physical Therapist with Specialty

Renu John graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008. She has been an employee of Jefferson Health since 2010. She is LSVT BIG certified (for treatment of patients with Parkinson’s Disease) and she is also certified in Vestibular rehab by the American Institute of Balance. She is also interested in pursuing a certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT or “The McKenzie Method”).

Senior Physical Therapist

Stephanie Senese graduated from Arcadia University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy. She has been an employee of Jefferson Health since 2008. She has special interests in orthopaedic and sport physical therapy and specifically completes return to sport testing on individuals following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. She has had multiple articles published in peer reviewed journals.

 

Brittany Bontemps, PT, DPT, AIB-VRT/CON
Physical Therapist

Brittany graduated from The University of Scranton (DPT '14) and has been practicing with Jefferson Health since 2018. She shares her experience in acute care and inpatient rehab to enhance her outpatient physical therapy practice. Brittany is certified by the American Institute of Balance (AIB-VRT/CON) as a vestibular rehab and concussion specialist; she is also an APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) - Certified Clinical Instructor.  

Kristi Browning, BA, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Kristi graduated with her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Lackawanna College in 2015, and began working with Jefferson Health shortly after. She also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2013 with her degree in Communication Science and Disorders. Kristi enjoys working with the orthopedic population, and providing patients with helpful and attentive care. In her spare time she enjoys dancing, reading, cooking and movie dates with her husband.  

Stefanie Diaz, MS, OTR/L, CLT, CHT
Senior Occupational Therapist with Specialty

Stefanie graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with her Master's degree in 2013. Since graduating, Stefanie has become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist from Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy in 2015. She is trained to work with patients who have breast, arm and leg lymphedema. Stefanie then attended Drexel University for a certificate in Advanced Study of the Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation in 2016. After an additional two years of practice, she officially passed her exam as a Certified Hand Therapist in November 2018. Stefanie continues to educate herself in areas of hand and lymphatic therapy. When Stefanie is not working in the clinic, she enjoys traveling, playing with her two dogs and spending time with her family and friends.  

Tacy Ammons, OTR/L, CLT, CLWT
Senior Occupational Therapist with Specialty

Tacy has been an occupational therapist for more than 28 years and believes strongly in facilitating patients' abilities to re-engage in their meaningful activities of daily living. Her career was initially concentrated in outpatient hand-to-shoulder orthopedics before she focused her interests in lymphedema and wound management. She has received advanced certifications through the Vodder international Institute based in Austria as well as the International Lymphedema and Wound Training Institute. Before arriving at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Tacy worked in numerous clinical settings and many other areas of the country. She holds her BS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a BFA and MFA in painting also from the University of Pennsylvania.
